Monitoring systems
We follow changes in plant and insect populations, pollinator behaviour, soil structure and ecological interactions over time.
Research observatory, specialising in biodiversity dynamics
The evidence starts from the field
We follow changes in plant and insect populations, pollinator behaviour, soil structure and ecological interactions over time.
We investigate biodiversity from visible species and their interactions to microbial communities.
Observations help reveal how biodiversity responds to land-use practices, ecological transitions and environmental change.
Our work creates a direct link between scientific research and land-based practice.

Our Work
Observations are developed into indicators of biodiversity dynamics, ecosystem functioning and resilience.
Scientific evidence and local knowledge are connected so ecological change can be discussed and understood in place.
The Observatory
QUYFIN was co-founded by Philippos Vardakas, a documentary filmmaker focused on social issues, and Solenn Patalano, a molecular biologist working on insect behaviour and biodiversity.

QUYFIN connects researchers and land users, bringing scientific research closer to local questions and observations, and supporting actions that strengthen nature’s capacity to adapt.
