Manifesto

Knowledge must be rooted in places.

Confronting climate change and ecological disruption requires us to rethink how knowledge is produced, shared and used. Researchers, educators, land users and other knowledge holders need to work together across disciplines and territories, making science accessible, relevant and connected to realities on the ground.

Ecosystems, species and communities respond differently to environmental change, and robust local scientific data allow us to understand these differences and follow how they evolve over time. This knowledge can support informed decisions and adaptation to a changing climate.

QUYFIN, the Research Observatory on Biodiversity Dynamics, was created to connect researchers and land users, bringing scientific research closer to local questions and observations, and supporting actions that strengthen nature’s capacity to adapt.
