Project
BaARF
Monitoring biodiversity on farms undergoing agroforestry transition
Project Introduction
BaARF follows the progressive conversion of three orchards to agroforestry systems, examining how insect communities, ecological interactions and soil microbial diversity change during the transition.
Context
Field surveys using insect transects are combined with genomic analyses of soil microbial communities to develop indicators of biodiversity and soil function. The study explores how these indicators relate to restoration practices and farm production.
Research / Monitoring Methodology
Field surveys using insect transects combined with genomic analyses of soil microbial communities.
